recruit boys type? he-man isn't sexist at all. otherwise there won't be a sorceress at all..who you know is also a woman. she gave adam the magic sword that made him turn into he-man..so the females are equally treated in the masters of the universe. what those stupid feminists say about the toy line and franchise is totally bullshit..
all i was wondering that even if the masters of the universe need assistance to battle the evil forces then they would approach (or maybe summon) all the mighty heroes of earth at once..instead of going to them one by one.
But the Soceress was there before He-Man, or prince Adam, exist. Not his call.
And in this context when I sayd "recruit boys" there were a sense implied, or I tried to implie one (but of course I dont know english so I may have made it wrong). What I intended is: He-Man looks like someone who only would by on choice dates people of the same sex, in his case males. That's a impression anyway, not a well established story element...
Talking about the fiction from outside it, it is quite sexist. She-Ra has just same physical strength her brother has, but her sword can do all that nice transformation his can't, AND her friend/mount flies!!! Noting "equal" there. (lol)
OK, it was to be a patriarchal scenario at first. After all it is based on Conan!! But things change, and this one reversed. (happens a lot: "equally" is a color hard to find on the palette, most writers not even try, they go rigth to the oposit pole of sexism and call this "problem solved").
I must admit, you have a point, I did not any idea Adan married Teela or had a son. Also, let me say, that prouve he isn't gay, because no gay man ever married a woman or had a son before. (lol)
Ok, sorry, that second point was little too much. I'm just a former fan of He-Man, saw some episodes back in the 80's, did not really know much about the Princie's background. You are right about that.
But I supose a first born prince, even a gay prince, should marrie a woman and should have a son, wen he come to the age for that. For national interesse if noting else. Dont you?
Adan is a selfless good guy. Teela make a excelent queen I'm sure. There you have. (does not prove he isn't strait, just keep the subject open to debate)
This is not fanfiction. This is official. Adam and Teela's relationship goes back in time since they were kids. So no He-Man is not gay at all. Just religiously monogamous (and heterosexual of course).
OK, you convinced me orko09. Adam is heterossexual. (and officially heterossexual too)
...or bissexual. (LOL! No, dont take THAT serious, please, I'm just joking. Boy is hetero: by the way Teela also did not flirt with that Skeleton's witch in the episode where both womans are lost in the desert!! lol)
As I may have mentioned: not serious. Would change notting to my, or the nice momments I had as a young kid seem He-Man every morning in "Xou da Xuxa", here in Brazil, if Adam were deep in bestiality or pedophilia, his sexual preferences are his personal matter. He do the job, tha's what matter!
But yes, you have a point. He is not gay, and he love Teela, who love him back. I can see that better now. Case is closed.
And once you have a that good knollege about Adam, there is one thing I aways wanted to understand , maybe you can explain to me: about Adam's sister (no, it's notting "sexual". And not "just a joke" this time).
She (like her bro) never kill "people", am I right? But She-Ra distroy many "robots", many times, well, all the time.
Thing is: they thalk, not only programmed sentences but personal meaningful words. They show fear, pride, "personal" opinions, sometimes they even try to escape "...death?". Aren't they, well, "people" in all important senses? BAD people, I know, but no less people even so (in fact only "people" can be "bad", I supose. Dont you agree?).
He-Mans enemies (the smalest robots, the sand-monsters) dont talk, or, if they talk, He do not distroy then (just imprisioned as some space pirate and his crew here and there). How you read this talking-self-conscious-robot's "genocide"?
